Single layered applique is an appliqué stitched on to the garment with no background layer. Whereas, doubled layered applique has a background layer sewn on to the garment first, then the foreground layer is added to create a doubled layer effect.
Sometimes mistaken for cross stitch, zig zag stitch is is a back-and-forth stitch. The color of the zig zag stitching is commonly influenced by the most dominant color of the foreground layer. It is standard to all orders.
It is a dense layer of parallel flat stitches. Satin stitching is perfect for adding more contrast to a design. It is an add-on option.
We use Madeira's polyneon threads, made 100% from polyester and designed to eliminate looping, puckering, and thread breaks. This type of thread is highly durable and smooth, leaving a shiny finish on your embroidery. With a wide range of colors available, you can choose vibrant colors that suit your design.
For the best results, we recommend avoiding designs with realistic photos, gradients, shading, and thin lines. It is best to use designs with solid colors and thick, precise lines for detail and legibility. Solid colors are necessary because our machines cannot transition from one color thread to another. If your image is too detailed, it may need to be redrawn for embroidery. Our goal is to make your design as precise and clean as possible.
Depending on the size of your design, we recommend limiting the number of colors used for the best quality. If your design is less than 5 inches, we recommend at most 5 colors. For designs larger than 5 inches, the number of colors used can be up to 15. The price of your design will be reflected by the number of colors used and the stitch count.
